15min Island Match Activity Set Up. Teacher outlines the procedure:

  • Draw random shaped island.

  • Add a mountain range. Indicate rock type and age.

  • Add fossils to each side of the mountain range.

  • Cut out island.

15min Island Match Activity. Students determine which islands went together and how using the information on each island. (Note shape evidence has the lowest priority.)

10 min Discussion on the steps (sequence/order) for finding which islands fit together. Paragraph summary of discussion
