LESSON OUTLINE
5min Students complete the Do Now.
5min Add paper cutouts to trays.
15min Biodiversity Calculations. Students calculate the biodiversity of two trays and record their findings on the handout. Students can also use Easy Biodiversity Calculations spreadsheet (via Google Classroom) to check their findings.
10min CER Practice. (A = Peru; B = 100s of different potatoes; and C = One disease destroyed all potato farms)
5min Collect materials. Clean up. Wrap up.
Chemistry: Balancing FlashBack
CW: Chem. RXN Balancing #1 Worksheet & MockLab Report.
DN: How many protons does Neon (Ne) have? How many single electrons?
Reminders: Start building/making your ReUse Project Item.

Chemistry: Balancing SMA
CW/HW: Completed SMA of RXN #1 (___H2O + ___O2 --> ___H202); RXN #2 (___N2 + ___H2 --> ___NH3); and RXN #3 ( ___C3H8 + ___O2 —> ___CO2 + ___H20). Turn in Slideshow (SOLO) or Animations (PAIRS) via Google Classroom.
DN: How do you balance a chemical reactions?
Reminders: If SMA pairs only completed one animation, they can come in at lunch/tutorial and complete the second animation OR they can complete the second animation slideshow style - make sure to turn in video of the first animation.

LESSON OUTLINE
5min Students complete the Do Now.
5min Balancing Chem. RXN SMA Instructions. Teacher outlines steps and difference between Solo (Google Slide Animations) and Pair (Stop Motion Studio) SMA.
20-25min Balancing Chem. RXN SMA. Students make the parts for the animation and use those parts to show the steps of balancing a chemical reaction. For RXN #1 (___H2O + ___O2 --> ___H202); RXN #2 (___N2 + ___H2 --> ___NH3); and RXN #3 ( ___C3H8 + ___O2 —> ___CO2 + ___H20) the steps below are shown.
1. Draw/Show Atoms in Molecules
2. Count the Atoms (Make it obvious what you are counting.)
3. Add Molecule(s) to one side.
4. Count the Atoms (Make it obvious what you are counting.)
(Repeat step 3 & 4 till everything is balanced.)
5. Fill in the blanks of the formula.
Turn in via Google Classroom.
5min Balancing Chem. RXN SMA Instructions. Teacher outlines steps and difference between Solo (Google Slide Animations) and Pair (Stop Motion Studio) SMA.
10min Students balance the chemical reaction formulas for Level 1 & 2 until they earn 4 or 5 stars. Continue to Level 3 when done.
5min Collect materials. Clean up. Wrap up.
Chemistry: Balancing Review
HW: Do more research on your Reuse Project. Select the best materials to work with and alternatives. Finalize your design and decide if you will work in a partner (must be assigned the same item) or not. Designs are due Friday.
CW: Completed Chemistry Balancing Practice & Review Worksheet
DN: (Continue using old Do Now Section.) What are examples of a polymer?
Reminders: You have till Friday to sign up to work in pairs or trios. Groups that miss their deadlines will have to turn in separate projects - no exceptions.
