5min Personal Genotype & Phenotype. Students record their genotype and phenotype.
10min Coin Flip. Students determine which version of their genes (alleles) they will pass on through the power of science and a coin flip. Students will record the results and add table partners results to determine offspring’s genotype. Students will repeat one more time.
20min Offspring Genotype & Phenotype MiniPoster. Students will determine what their offspring features will be based on their genotype. Student’s will illustrate the results and provide a name for their offspring. (Genotype information should be posted on bottom right corner of poster.)
5min Collect materials. Clean up. Wrap up.

5min Measuring Practice. Measure the length of paper in centimeters (cm) and convert into millimeters (mm) and meters (m).
15min How to Measure MiniPoster. Draw your pencil/pen/marker and then a ruler (metric and only the part that is needed) showing how you measured it. Include the mm markings at the end. Show the length in m, cm, and mm. Select two random objects, measure them. Draw the objects on your poster and their measurements (m, cm, & mm) - you don’t have to draw a ruler for these.
